If you don’t want to sell products, you don’t need to shell out for a Shopify plan. But if you have a complex or large inventory – more than 10 products or so –  Shopify’s sales features and dedicated ecommerce resources are worth the price point. If you hover over an image, the image is pulled towards you — two small features that make a big difference in terms of creating a unique and engaging user experience. Many services highlighted here offer the ability to sell items from your site, if only in the form of a PayPal button (for some platforms, the option is limited to premium accounts). These services typically offer a premium tier that grants more hosting flexibility. For example, About.me's $8 per month premium package removes the company's branding and gives you the ability to connect your site to an externally purchased domain. If you're concerned about how your site will look on mobile devices, don't fret. Sites created on these blogging platforms typically include mobile-friendly responsive design versions, so that they're well formatted for smartphones and tablets. Yahoo's Tumblr is another incredibly popular blog platform that lends itself to shorter, more visual posts. You can, however, find themes that give your Tumblr site a more traditional website look and feel.

Wix and uKit, at the other end, have little or even nothing in the way of built-in site stats, instead encouraging you to create your own Google Analytics account, (and even that requires a paid account). Another drawback of that approach is that you can only see traffic from the preceding day and earlier; it's not up-to-the-minute, or even the hour. Some site builders, such as Strikingly, uKit, and Virb restrict you to placing page objects in spots that won't make your site look garish, which can be an advantage if design isn't your forte. Other builders offer more freedom; if that's what you're looking for, check out Wix.

These services also offer specifically targeted templates based on your site's purpose, such as for promoting a bakery's sales, getting gigs for a musician, or keeping wedding guests informed. If you choose that path, your site will include branding from the provider, which makes your site less impressive to savvy surfers—and shoppers. Free offerings vary greatly in the storage, bandwidth, and site options they allow, so read the small print to find out how much you get with each web host.

There are also website platforms such as Squarespace and Wix that help make designing websites even easier, especially for beginners. To access an application, the user connects to the Secure Connect ZTNA reverse proxy using a unique URL created by Secure Connect for each application. Safe House 2012 Plot

safe house movie

Like a lot of contemporary action directors Mr. Espinosa tends to cut among several scenes, switching not simply between two scenes but also upward of four. In lesser hands this kind of editing scheme can devolve into visual and narrative chaos, as the filmmaker whiplashes from one location to another, sometimes for no apparent reason. Safe House is a 2012 American action thriller film directed by Daniel Espinosa, written by David Guggenheim, and starring Denzel Washington and Ryan Reynolds. When the safe house is attacked by mercenaries, Weston flees with Frost in his charge. As the team of killers, who seem to be one step ahead of the pair, track them throughout Cape Town, Weston wonders who to trust. Vera Farmiga, Brendan Gleeson, Sam Shepard, Rubén Blades, Nora Arnezeder and Robert Patrick co-star.

On media pages

Even though Barlow maintains that his protege isn't working with Frost, the mounting evidence in front of Linklater's face makes it hard for her to ignore the feeling that something isn't right. Reynolds is great, too, but the film truly belongs to Washington as the gruff, clever bad guy you'll end up rooting for. As for the action and choreographed violence, perhaps the number two reason for purchasing a ticket this weekend, again Safe House delivers adequately. Why do scripters even try to hide the identity of the villain until the end?

Weston realizes what is truly important to him

Weston is getting an assist from his supervisor, David Barlow (Brendan Gleeson), as well as fellow senior agent Catherine Linklater (Vera Farmiga). They are not only trying to determine why Frost set up a meeting with a former MI6 agent before he turned himself over, but also why he's now being hounded by this mysterious group of mercenaries. Furthermore, Linklater is suspicious of Weston and concerned that he might be at risk of defecting. Everybody fights and everybody lies in a thriller that tries to glamorize spies while demonizing their profession.

Rotten Tomatoes® Score

Back in the United States, Weston meets with Director Whitford, who informs Weston that unflattering facts about the CIA must be removed from his report, but that he will be promoted. He asks Weston about the file's location but Weston denies knowing about it. Whitford states that whoever has those files will have many enemies. Elsewhere in Cape Town, ex-CIA NOC operative turned international criminal Tobin Frost acquires a data storage device from rogue MI6 officer Alec Wade. Frost flees and, out of options, surrenders to the American consulate. Throughout their time together, Frost continuously tries to convince Weston to not trust his superiors at the CIA.

Frost pushes Weston to question his line of work

safe house movie

Spends most of its 117-minute running time much like its central characters -- tearing madly around, making a lot of noise and not really getting very far. The South African location, Denzel Washington's duplicitous dialogue, and the intense car chases help to coax viewers into forgetting about the humdrum plot. Safe House stars Washington and Reynolds are let down by a thin script and choppily edited action sequences. By creating an account, you agree to the Privacy Policy and the Terms and Policies , and to receive email from Rotten Tomatoes.

Plot

Frost reveals that he acquired a microchip loaded with files detailing massive corruption in every major intelligence agency in the world. Everything changes when Weston meets former CIA agent turned international criminal Tobin Frost (Denzel Washington). Frost arrives at Weston's safe house after surrendering himself to the Americans to avoid being killed by a group of mercenaries who have been hot on his trail. However, the mercenaries discover his location and destroy the safe house, forcing Weston and Frost to go on the run. Did or didn’t Frost betray his country is the question that the credited screenwriter David Guggenheim and Daniel Espinosa, the young, up-and-coming Swedish director, put into nimble play almost as soon as “Safe House” gets going. And, after some low-key place setting in Cape Town, where Matt Weston (Ryan Reynolds), an untested C.I.A. agent, is watching over a company safe house, the movie takes off like a shot.

Back at the safe house, Weston wakes up after passing out from his injuries. After putting together all the clues, Weston knows that Barlow is behind everything. When confronted, Barlow confesses that he "did something [I'm] not proud of" and is now going to great lengths to keep it hidden. Meanwhile, both Barlow and Linklater have arrived in South Africa to investigate the situation.

Storyline

A young CIA agent is tasked with looking after a fugitive in a safe house. But when the safe house is attacked, he finds himself on the run with his charge.A young CIA agent is tasked with looking after a fugitive in a safe house. But when the safe house is attacked, he finds himself on the run with his charge.

In Cape Town, South Africa, junior CIA officer Matt Weston is serving as a "housekeeper", an operative in charge of securing and maintaining a local CIA safe house in case of an operation. He calls his mentor and immediate superior, David Barlow, and inquires about a station in Paris, where he hopes to follow his live-in girlfriend Ana, a young French physician about to start her residency. Barlow tells him he is likely underqualified for the position, which frustrates Matt as he has not had a "houseguest" during his year long tenure, and thus has been unable to gain field experience. But after his ordeal, Weston has come to greatly value the truth. He's been caught in a murky sea of lies throughout the film, often unable to determine which way is up.

Linklater orders Weston to lie low and await further instructions.

The 2012 movie sees Ryan Reynolds playing rookie CIA agent Matt Weston. At the beginning of the film, Weston is living a relatively quiet life managing a safe house in Cape Town, South Africa. He's unsatisfied with his assignment, as he feels it's not giving him the opportunity to move forward in his career. Weston takes Frost to the new safe house, where Weston keeps the housekeeper, Keller, at gunpoint.

He notes that the mercenaries knew how to find his safe house, which likely means they were tipped off by someone inside the agency. This is later confirmed when Weston interrogates one of the mercenaries. As his allegiance is questioned and his mission becomes more and more dangerous, Weston begins to wonder where the truth of the whole situation actually lies. Reynolds is the star of the film, but because he's the junior actor, playing the rookie character, he's given even less to work with.

Weston contacts Ana, giving her a cover story that his office has been threatened and suggesting she stay with friends when it appears their apartment is under surveillance. Barlow tells Weston to go to Cape Town Stadium where he retrieves a GPS device containing the location of another safe house, but Frost creates a diversion and escapes. Weston, detained by the police, escapes and is forced to fire at them.Frost escape gets reported. After hearing that Weston fired at the police, Linklater orders him to visit the nearest American embassy for debriefing. En route, Linklater suggests that Weston has joined Frost, which Barlow refutes. When Whitford asks Weston about the microchip, he tells the deputy director that he's unaware of any such thing.

Caribbean Cruise Reviews 2024 UPDATED: Ratings of Cruises to Caribbean

royal caribbean cruise reviews

This is where you can find four of the seven pools, which are spread out over three separate decks. It is home to Swim &Tonic, the biggest swim-up bar at sea (and the first for Royal Caribbean) as well as Royal Bay Pool, the largest pool at sea. This top tier includes everything in Sky Class along with premium seats for entertainment, complimentary dining packages and more.

I sailed on Royal Caribbean's Icon of the Seas. These were my 8 favorite amenities on the world's largest cruise ship.

During the day it’s meant to be a “tranquil oasis” with ocean views and a picturesque waterfall. At night, it’s a buzzing hot spot with restaurants, bars and entertainment in the AquaTheater. And while family fun is front and center on Icon of the Seas, it is thoughtfully designed to cater to every type of traveler. From a variety of new room choices to seemingly endless dining and entertainment options, the offerings of the Icon of the Seas have raised the bar for cruise vacations. Whether you use a travel agent or not, make sure to maximize your credit card spend when paying for the cruise by using a credit card that offers extra points for travel purchases.

Plentiful smaller and affordable cabins, included casual dining options, and a plethora of bars and onboard attractions give Royal Caribbean ships a for-the-masses feel and make them accessible to travelers on a budget. The 3,258-passenger Voyager of the Seas is ideally suited to families with superb children's facilities catering to youngsters aged 6 months and up. However, there are things for cruisers of all ages to enjoy on this versatile ship. Plenty of sun decks and an ample number of pools lend themselves to fun in the sun. Relaxation can be found on one of the many deck chairs that line the top decks or in the serene surrounds of the Vitality Spa and Fitness Centre. A day or two before I got off the ship, I decided to make use of my balcony, which I had avoided because I thought the view would only depress me further.

What is Royal Caribbean's newest ship?

It offers water parks, beaches, pools and more – and the best part is that it's all just steps from the ship. For the other stops, you can book shore excursions directly through Royal Caribbean. The ships also draw customers from a wide range of incomes.

Craig has never cruised Royal Caribbean, but gave it a try after sailing other lines. We left The Beach Club agreeing that we would pick a future itinerary solely because of a stop here. We felt the value we received was well above what you receive at other private islands, for not paying anything extra. However, that’s not to say that I didn’t miss the Cruise Planner when preparing for our Virgin sailing. Contrary to Royal Caribbean, where you can get all of your pre-cruise planning done from the computer or their app, Virgin requires you to do everything through their app. In a quick glance in the App Store, you’ll see that Virgin’s app scores a measly 1.6 stars, whereas Royal’s scores 4.8 stars.

Where does Royal Caribbean Voyager of the Seas sail from?

As you might expect, pricing for all ships will generally be less during offseason periods such as September and October. Note that, unlike airline frequent flyer programs, cruise line loyalty programs do not require you to requalify for status every year. So, yes, the perks with lower tiers aren't great, but it's not as difficult as it might at first seem to hit the more rewarding higher-level tiers in just a few years if you're cruising a lot. During the evenings, there is an official dress code, but it only applies to passengers entering the main dining room. On any given night, one of three dress codes will apply — casual, smart casual or formal. Royal Caribbean has one of the fastest Wi-Fi systems at sea — so fast that you're able to watch Netflix from your room on your mobile device.

Who sails Royal Caribbean?

So when the opportunity came to go across the pond, I jumped at the chance. I was inspired to think of the top five moments from my cruises this year and share them here. Whether it was exploring fjords, seeing Mexico by yacht, or seeing Maine in a new way, this year was full of adventure on the cruises I took. Rooms in this category include Junior Suites, which give you a bit more space than regular staterooms and can sleep up to four on a pullout sofa. You get access to the suite-exclusive Coastal Kitchen restaurant (for dinner only).

Neighborhoods and activities

Speaking of vibes, if you're looking for a secluded place to drink (as in, not the swim-up pool bar), few will top the Overlook Pods, perched just behind the AquaDome. It's the first show-at-sea I've seen with a waterfall and nine-foot-tall robotic arms, and so far, it's one of my favorites. The ship's riff on Broadway-approved "Wizard of Oz" — 16-piece live orchestra and flying bed included — delighted me, a hater of most musicals. It wouldn't be a roundup of Icon of the Seas' best amenities without a mention of its waterpark.

Other interior attractions and activities

Here are the worst months to cruise to Europe, based on the weather, crowding, and cruise destination. From exploring ancient castles in Portugal to touring Viking museums in Norway, there are countless ways to immerse yourself in Europe’s history and nature on a cruise. Not only that, but European cruise itineraries are diverse, too.

That said, given the complexity of booking a cruise — there are a lot of decisions to make during the booking process, trust us — we recommend that you use a seasoned travel agent who specializes in cruises. The currency used on all Royal Caribbean ships is U.S. dollars, no matter where they are in the world. All vessels operate on a "cashless system," with any onboard purchases you make posting automatically to your onboard account. You'll receive a SeaPass card that you can use to make charges.

But during my three days on Icon, I returned to the centrally located space more often than expected. Icon of the Seas has plenty of live music venues — including rowdy karaoke and dueling pianos bars, if that counts. But if you're a jazz fan or looking for a peaceful nightcap, none of these options will top the live music at Lou's Jazz 'n Blues. Started in 2010, Royal Caribbean Blog offers daily coverage of news and information related to the Royal Caribbean cruise line along with other relevant topics of cruising, such as entertainment, news, photo updates and more. Matt is back from a quick 3-night cruise on Independence of the Seas and the first day was a lot different than most of his cruises. Our sailing on Virgin Voyages opened up our eyes to trying out different cruise lines, and broadening our horizons.

If you must cruise to Europe in the peak of summer, take caution when booking shore excursions. There are a few months you might want to avoid booking your dream vacation. Skinny nightstands on either side of the bed held lamps, charging ports, and a room phone on one side. I booked a mid-tier room — a step above interior staterooms, which have no window. It's a category below staterooms with a balcony, and two steps below a suite. “They asked me three times if I needed medication,” he says of the security people who apparently interrogated him in full view of others having breakfast.

Every Royal Caribbean ship has a casino, and on the line's bigger vessels, these are big operations. The Casino Royale on Oasis of the Seas sprawls with 450 slot machines, 27 table games (including blackjack, roulette and craps) and a poker room, plus its very own bar. The casinos on the four other Oasis Class ships are similarly giant. Some ships also have comedy clubs, and there's always live music in multiple venues nightly.

My favorite moment from this cruise was exploring Bar Harbor. I went up to the top of Cadillac Mountain, saw fall foliage, and walked around the town. It was exactly what I envisioned when I first considered booking this cruise. Grabbing a beer in port became just as important as the shore excursion I had planned. We certainly don't need to stay in a suite to have a great cruise, but it was such a treat to try it out. Then there's the 843 square foot balcony to go with it, which has a hot tub on it.

The Roman Forum is one of the most fascinating archeological sites that used to be the center of everyday life and an administrative and commercial hub in Ancient Rome. Cruise lines offer numerous shore excursions to the Colosseum, but you can also visit it on your own. To get to the Colosseum, get off at Roma Termini station and then take the metro line B to the “Colosseo” stop. You will probably face long lines, so it’s recommended to purchase the skip-the-line ticket. The Rome Cruise Terminal is located within the Civitavecchia Port, it can be easily reached using the free shuttle service. The Civitavecchia train station is located at about 1 kilometer from the port so you can also reach it by foot.

Cruise passengers enjoy seamless connections from this port to various iconic sights and attractions within Rome. Some monuments are easily within walking distance of each other, where-as others may require a short cab ride or public bus journey in order to reach. However, if you do wish to explore Rome on your own, you can take a train from Civitavecchia train station. We would recommend the InterCity service as it is slightly faster, but there are other options available that are cheaper. Of course, given the duration of these days (often 10 hours or more) and the distance to and from the city, the safest option to avoid missing your ship is to book with your cruise line.

Museums and art

Other hotels are slightly further away but the cruise terminals are easily accessible by an affordable shuttle. You can choose between ocean view rooms with balcony, budget friendly rooms or another option is to stay in a charming bed and breakfast. Shore excursions are a popular choice for visitors looking to maximize their time and see as much as possible. Many companies offer guided tours of Rome, taking visitors to see famous landmarks such as the Colosseum, Vatican City, and the Trevi Fountain.

In 2022 was inaugurated a new cruise terminal providing services to smaller-sized/luxury boutique cruise ships that increasingly use Civitavecchia as a homeport. If you are coming on a cruise and visiting Rome in a day, it is recommended to book a shore excursion with your cruise line to be on the safe side and not risk missing the ship. Civitavecchia port is also a homeport, meaning that cruises start and end in Civitavecchia.

Rome, Italy – Cruise Port Guide

Civitavecchia ("Terminal Venezia Passeggeri" in Italian) is the world's 10th busiest cruise port (2,2+ million passengers annually) and a major Mediterranean homeport/turnaround port for roundtrip itineraries. Originally built as the Stadium of Domitian in the 1st century AD, Piazza Navona is today one of the most visited and most elegant squares in Rome. Piazza Navona is located within a 10-minute walk from Trevi Fountain.

The shuttle bus service, which will take you from your cruise ship to Largo della Pace, is completely free of charge. The train station is conveniently located just outside the harbor and is a 20-minute walk from the cruise ship terminal. Civitavecchia, the cruise port of Rome, offers many shopping opportunities for cruise ship travelers. Whether you’re looking for unique souvenirs or want to indulge in retail therapy, you’ll find plenty of options. There is also a special direct service that connects the Civitavecchia train station with the cruise ship docks and vice versa.

Annually, Port Civitavecchia handles 2000+ passenger ship calls (by both ferries and cruise vessels) and ~2 million travelers, ranking it Europe's 3rd busiest and the Mediterranean's largest. The city has population around 60,000 and covers an area of approx 72 km2 / 28 mi2.

It's recommended to check the distance beforehand and plan accordingly. The Rome Cruise Port offers a variety of transportation services to help passengers get to and from the port with ease. Seine River Cruises Plan a Cruise Down the Seine

cruise seine paris france

Bateaux de Paris is the newest company to begin operating regular sightseeing tourist cruises on the Seine. It currently has only one boat that offers these cruises and it only operates seasonally. Most boats now include an audio guide that will play in several languages including Dutch, English, French, German, Italian, and Spanish. But some boats still have live narration on-board by guides in French and English on some cruises.

How much does it cost to take a Seine River cruise in France?

First, it was within a 5-minute walking distance of where we were staying in Paris. Second, it provided the best prices and we booked tickets in advance online for only 16 euros total for the two of us. These tickets also gave us a lot of flexibility regarding when we used them as they were good for one year following purchase. Costs for a fully private cruise generally start at about 200 € for an hour for 2 persons or a family and can go well above 2,000 € depending on the duration and type of cruise experience you want. The Vedettes du Pont Neuf boats have a ramp for access and can accommodate step-free access and passengers with wheelchairs and mobility scooters. The access ramp is located a little further beyond the stairs and staff can help assist in finding the best place to board and exit.

Seine Cruise Route Map

You can enhance your cruise with an optional charcuterie and cheese board (+13€). Guided cruise provide history and cultural insight into Paris and its famous monuments. They can be customized to focus on different topics from art, architecture, WWII history, love stories and more based on passengers’ interests. A boat cruise is a relaxed, calm way to take in the sights of Paris compared to a rushed walking tour or hectic metro trips.

Paris by Private Luxury Yacht

Please note that depending on where you want to go, there may be some walking involved to get there from the port stop. For instance, the stop closest to the Eiffel Tower requires a 15-minute walk to get to the monument from the boat stop. The boats stop at each stop every 20 to 25 minutes depending on the season. Read our review of the Paris Pass for more information, and take a look at our suggested 3 day Paris itinerary that includes this ride.
